Daughters of a Certain Rainbow is a vivid dreamscape—a portrait of lineage not just through blood, but through spirit, color, and becoming. Each figure, wrapped in luminous folds of violet, crimson, and cobalt, emerges from a sea of motion, memory, and myth. Their faces, kaleidoscopically layered and half-seen, carry both the ache of inheritance and the beauty of survival.
A gathering of daughters shaped by mothers shaped by daughters.
A testimony to how Black women shapeshift through time—through silence, through care, through joy and generational repetition. It is an energetic representation of my sisters and cousins, all the girls who have become women right before my eyes.

The “rainbow” here is not the typical arc of promise. It is nuanced, sacred, and coded—it holds rage, softness, glamour, refusal, and rebirth. It is the language spoken between glances at kitchen tables, on porches, in prayers, and behind eyes that have seen too much and still hold light.
